Sasha Levinson is an award winning director of films, commercials and music videos. She spent the formative years of her career making music videos with luminaries such as 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige and Wyclef Jean and Cake. This electric sensibility still informs her aesthetic today. She currently works with internationally renowned brands, philanthropic organizations, and celebrities, including the Dalai Lama, Serena Williams, the City of Las Vegas, for whom she made a short film about a lesbian wedding, that went viral, garnering the highest positive comment rating of all time, on YouTube.
Sasha’s first feature documentary, SYLVIE of THE SUNSHINE STATE, premiered at Slamdance 2022, where she won the Spirit of Slamdance Award. She is Producer of the film MAKAYLA’S VOICE, which premiered at Slamdance 2024 and has won best film awards at Slamdance, Cleveland International Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, and Tribeca Festival, setting the film on a trajectory for the 2025 Academy Awards. Sasha is in love with both the collaborative film making process and the solitude of writing. The tone of her sets feel like a celebration of filmmaking and this joyful approach is apparent in the material she creates and the mutually beneficial relationships she develops with the actors she creates with.
